Classroom Procedures

  1. Cadets will be courteous, polite, and respectful to all others at all times in an MCJROTC environment.
  2. Say “please” when making a request. Say “thank you” when a request is granted.
  3. The Class Leader will call the class to “attention” when the tardy bell rings signalling the beginning of class.
  4. The Class Leader will then give the command “seats”. The class will then take their seats.  The Class Leader will then give the command “adjust”.  The class then has five seconds to adjust in their seats.
  5. Cadets respond with “here sir” when their name is called during attendance.
  6. The Class Leader will call the class to attention at the end of class and then give the command dismissed. The cadets are then free to exit the classroom.  The cadets wait to be dismissed prior to exiting the classroom.
  7. Cell phones and electronic devices are turned off and stowed in the cadets backpack IAW RSD policy.
  8. Cadets raise their hands to be called on.
  9.  Maintain a dialogue when communicating with others.  Do not “talk over” each other.
  10. Endeavor to do your best.  If a mistake is made, accept responsibility and endeavor to do better.
  11. Bring paper and pen and/or pencil to class.
  12. Everybody is entitled to their own perspective and viewpoints. Be respectful of others perspectives and viewpoints even if they differ from your own.
